Nikki on manifold without carb spacer?

Ok i fubared my carb spacer, and i was trying to get a used one that was intact, but no luck so far. I was wondering if i could just mount the nikki directly to the manifold without any spacer, but just use a paper gasket?

will it work?

I dont need to do this for long...just need it to last long enough to get me about 8mi.

Not if you need any vacuum lines. Not sure otherwise.

Problem is that the linkage will bind against the manifold, OMP rpod will be out of whack, etc.

Actually I'm only 14. Just two more years and I can get my liscence!

The threads on the studs in the manifold don't go down far enough, either, IIRC.
