nikki HELP! What's this part?
So, I'm rebuilding the carb and one of the hoses snapped, so I was being less careful and I underestimated the length/strength of the nipple attached to it and I broke the little plastic nipple.
Better yet it's not in my carb diagram so I have no idea what it is, I'm guessing an in-line filter or something? Anybody know what it is/what I can replace it with?
Thanks,
-josh

That was a vacuum delay valve.
If you still have both pieces (the hose barb is probably in the hose still) you can epoxy it back together if you're careful, or replace it. They came in a few different shapes over the years.
Mazda part number looks to be N231-13-980

Or you could pull all the emissions off it using the tutorial on www.mazspeed.com. It gets removed along with alot of other junk. Makes things neater and removes alot of possible points of failure.
