nikki help

I have a 12a i put into my 85 along with a nikki i strippes cleaned and modded. I finally go to start thecr today and now i have gas shooting like a super soaker from those two fuel bolts on top. I took the top off and noticed the bowl on the front fills completely but the bowl on the backside barely has any fuel. Check the jet things above the floats and nothing obstructing. Also i notice i have no fuel coming through my jets what so ever. I used the carb rebuild kit from autozone. Any ideas because the carb worked perfect before this.

The fuel bolts on top should have aluminum crush washers both above and below to seal them.

Make sure you don't have the check valve on the return fuel line installed backwards.

The bowl(s) filling completely are a typical symptom of a float needle getting hung up and not closing; there are a number of approaches for dealing with this to be found in the archives, mainly the "tapping with a plastic handle" method and the more advanced "burnishing" method.

The first time the front bowl filled to the perfect level and the back bowl barely had any gas in it. No gas coming through the fuel jets down the carb. Took the top hat off and checked everything. Used a different float on the rear bowl and put it together. Fuel squirted from the 2 top bolts again and the front bowl filled completely up while no gas filled the rear bowl. Still no gas coming out of the fuel jets. Tonight i have taken this carb back apart and looked for anything simple. Mods include a complete strip, no choke, the driverside sensor (the plastic piece and little rod tooken out) and all vacum nipples are closed off, omp lines deleted.

So today i turned the key to the on position and couldnt hear the fuel pump. Took a fuel line off and the pump didnt pump. So i took the pump out while breaking my perfect storage bin. All that to find out a 85 pump only pumps when the motor is cranked. Confused now on to why it wouldnt run with key in on position or if this has to do with my supposed carb problems.

These are all questions I have and potential ideas. I might not be correct but these are all things I can think of.
Hmmmm, Have you checked your fuses?
Did you use the original needle and seat or the ones from the autozone kit? They might be sticking.
Are all of you passages cleared out? A compressor to all the holes will make short work of anything in the way.
The pump I believe should click while it's in the "on" position. Bad ground? Maybe bad fuel pump?

It looks to be original fuel pump. Car has sat for 4 months. I still have to test grounds and power. I replaced everything that came with the carb kit 1 thing at a time. Passages cleared and checked 3 times now. Fuses were one of the first and last things checked. Needles are not stickin.
