Nikki 2 Barrel Carb Help!!!!

Okay, after surviving 4 years of torture with the 4 barrel on my RX7, It is finally fuel injected.
This however is not my problem, whilst the RX7 is in the bodyshop for a little nip and tuck I have been driving my sons 73 Capella.
As my son does not have a drivers license yet it never gets driven.

Enough story heres the problem.
Car runs like a champ for a day or two then lurches and bucks its brains out, Dirty carb? I think so. Clean out the main Fuel jets and air thingos, put a second fuel filter in engine bay and voila car runs like a champ again.

This has gone on for two weeks every 2 or 3 days until last night, all the previously described symtom plus a heap of back firing. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang style. Cleaned out the Jets and Air thingos again, wright as rain.

Any thoughts???
Regards Sue

Fuel

Hi Ruby, I would say since it never gets driven that there is alot of water in the tank or condensation from sitting and contaminants. recommend that fuel tank is drained, all lines are blown out. then reclean jets and install new fuel filter. Should be fine after that. If that car goes back to storage after you get your back tghen recommend putting fuel stabilizer in tank.
Good luck.
