I like it overall except for the giant lights. Other than that, I especially like that yellow car.

The red one looks pretty good except for the rear spoiler. Anyone have links to Japanese sites with sweet first gen pics?

I'm afraid that it's probably a custom thing. If you really care you could ask the folks at www.grannysspeedshop.com who are hosting the pictures who did it.

I personally think that it's absolutely grotesque and that it looks like it would crack and fall apart after you hit your first bump. But I'm not generally a fan of body kits either.

Also, the hacksaw work doesn't seem to have left any appropriations for a top, so no riding in the rain.

LOL grotesque. It does have its grotesque aspects. Maybe better to not think of it as an RX with a body kit, but as a kit car using an RX-7 as a donor base vehicle. It's obviously just someone's backyard prototype so I think "has potential" might be complimentary.

Wow! The convertable in progress looks exceptionally heavy. Why mess with a good 'ol stock SA/FB body unless you want a 2350lb car plus fiberglass overhang weight as well

I'd bet it's much lighter, if you look at the first picture you can see there is nothing behind the rear wheel, making me believe much of the original rear end has been dicarded, If it was painted and pretty everyone would be gawking, except for those few people who think the avatar convertible was a tragedy.
In any case someone has a hell of a lot of time in that.

I like the front end on that last one, it looks pretty cool. the rear could really use some work though... seems like there is entierly too much flat area back there.

oh, and on that ARF kit, those "fog lights" look like the bulb for the stock headlights

I really like the front spoiler. Not sure about the large lights, but like the style.

LOL owning a convertible must be why I think it has potential. Seriously, if someone wants to make a kit car anyway, it would be that much better for having a rx-7 underneath. They do have a lot of rigidity issues to deal with, so it would have been easier to start with a convertible.

The only thing better than that RoadsterX-7, is the 3 foot fall off the broke *** playground slide in the back.

Wonder where one could find the arf kit? Not the other object that started life as an rx.
