Question Newbie--some technical questions

I currently own a 1982 RX-7, which definitely needs major restoration. But i mean i got it for $200 and it runs just has soem body rust and paint it gone, and the interior was gutted cause it was gonna be made into a race car, but the owner before was having a kid and had to get it out of the yard. I know where i can get a 1979 model for cheap, which has a good interior. And i was wondering, if the outside of the '79 is in better shape then the '82, if i could swap the engine and tranny over from the '82 to the '79?
--and--
would a 79s Oil Cooler work with a 82s engine?
TIA

Chris
