Newb here with a few ?? pertaining to a 1st gen

Hi all,

This is my first post here and I'm rather pressed for time because there's an engine for sale online and I don't have a clue about rotaries.

The engine is a 13b with 52k miles on it. What kind of numbers will the internals support efficiently? I have an '85 rx-7 in my sites and want to build a strong drift car in the very near future. I'm completely clueless when it comes to rotary and that's pretty much because I never researched it.

Before finding that 13b online, I was looking for an '03 cobra power/drive train. Which Im sure will do the job but it would save me a few grand if the 13b can hold up.

Can a 13b support +350hp?

Thanks

Welcome to the forum.
To answer your question with a "Yes", or a "No" answer. It is yes.
Both the car and the engine will require a fair amount of modification to support eachother.
If you are serious about this. I recommend that you get accuainted with the search function at the top of the page. Type in key words such as 13b turbo. This should put in the general direction. You will however have alot of previous threads that will come up because this is probably one of the most frequently asked questions from a new member. Look for the ones that have the most responses and start from there. Be prepared to do hours of reading on this subject before you are ready to understand what is needed to achieve your goals. At that time after getting familar with everything if you have specific questions, please feel free to repost on this thread.

if its a 13bT then it will be ez to get your 350hp... if its NA it can be done but not for cheep and not by you. not trying to be a dick. as every1 said 350 is alot in these lil cars... 200hp put them in the 12's in the 1/4.... its all in what you want and how much you want to spend... the power from a rotory is very smooth there is nothing else like it revs fast and high...

as for the others that only said 350 is alot in the cars.. if his goal is 350 then thats a good goal.. no point in wateing space sayin that thats to much.. ask him how he is wanting to get thta much turbo/super charger/NA then inform him on why it is a good idea or a bad 1

cheers PaTricK
