New Toy! what can I do?
Just bought my first rotary car from a junk yard for $100 and plan on using it for autocross racing this summer. It's an '83 1st gen and so far seems all original. The car runs but smokes a little (think cause it sat for a yr). Probs so far are minor including bad interior, missing drivers window, and no clutch.. oh yea and the drivers door latch IS broke lol. Body is fairly clean with almost no rust. Was wondering what cheap mods can be done, and what maintenance should be done to preserve it as well. I ask cause I am already growing fond of the car and am still learning the basics of rotarys. Any advice and input would be greatly appreciated.
On another note the owner of the junkyard threw in 2 more rotary motors, I'm guessing pre-dating '74 since they have duel distributers. No use to me but maybe someone else.
Thanks again.

OK best things to do
1 - Change all the oils (engine, diff, gearbox)
2 - change all filters (oil, fuel, air)
3 - get a good tune up from a mechanic
then start looking for better mods. If its a carb... get mechanical secondaries
get extractors, remove rats nest... etc etc

after you do the normal matainance on it if your looking for more performance I'd suggest a header and removal of the cats and rejet the carb.....it will give the most bang for the buck.
