Welcome to the world of funky electrical problems, $230 relays with short lifespans, heavy and not-stiff creaky body, electrical gremlins, people thinking you have one of a dozen late-eighties 2-door hatchbacks, cracking solder points in the ECU, wierd rear-steer toe links, all kinds of engine-management craziness, and electrical problems that will make you cry.
And awesome quick power steering, 4-wheel disc brakes, fully independent suspension with as big of tires as you want, lots of interior room, legendary Rx-7 handling and feel, and a hell of a motor. Have fun!

With the addition of Jeremy's '79, I will now have two SA's. Now I just got to find another set of '80 front calipers to get rid of those pesky wedge type calipers on the '79. Jeremy already took it to the upgraded dizzy and ignitors. Anybody have any other suggestions on upgrades for the '79. His new 2nd gen is really sharp and I think it will serve him well. Congrats again Jeremy!

well, lsd is really nice. it has more creature comforts. i haven't g-teched it yet to see its 1/4 mi vs my sa's. it is noticably heavier and doesn't have that "go-cart" feel that the 1st gen has. but it is a much more practical daily driver. its na so it will be more reliable too. 3rd gens are just too much for my budget price wise, maintenance wise, and insurance wise. i do miss that spot on cornering and super solid feel of the sa. autox time. too bad this one still needs some work before it gets out there.

FC's are awesome cars, fun to drive and i think they look great (yours is exceptionally nice the black on black s5 is very VERY sought after). Just make sure you put on your flame resistant suit and get ready to deal with the kiddies cuz its a different world over in the 2nd gen forum . You should have no problems figuring out who really knows what they are talking about over there. Nice to see a first gen owner converted to a second genner (it tends to be the other way around ) but anyway hope you enjoy the car she is a real beauty!!

Last night I pulled up beside a guy in a silver FC - he and his date couldn't stop staring at my FB...
...then again I know who this guy is (The ReX community is very, very small here) and he's only had his FC for 2-3 months and is trying to sell it. Ask him about it and he'll tell you about it's "tight-angle V6, similar to the Volkswagen one".

my outlook on why the second gen forum is bad?
although i have only ventured over there about twice.. and dont care to go back is that.. lots of people saw fast and the furious, and didnt have the cash to buy a fd, and certainly didnt want to be seen in a fb, so the bought a fc. even if it wasnt fast and the furious, same concept, want an fd, but cant afford it.
ill admit, at first i absoultly didnt want a first gen, knew a third gen was way out of reach, so i wanted a second gen, also, my dad had alot of extra fc parts laying around incase something broke. i looked for a second gen for about 4-5 months.. looked at ALOT of shitty rex's. found a good deal on my car.. decided to give it a chance.. saw it.. wasnt too sure.. but my god, when i started driving it.. i fell in love.. im so happy i bought my car over a second gen. ive heard of way to many problems with them. although i still wouldnt mind having one. but it was take alot to make me get rid of mine
back to the topic.. very nice. i like the black on black, and those rims are the nicest ones that came stock with the second gen aside from the vert ones. i hate the t2 and honeycomb wheels.
