New Radiator

I need to replace the rad on my 85 GS. Any opinions on which cools better, the tall 2 row or the short 3 row. I may replace the beehive but not in the near future. Along with the rad I'm replacing the water pump, t-stat, and all the hoses. I live in St. Pete Fl. and want to make sure it runs cool in the summer. I've done a search but nothing pops up as to which is better.

Thanks, Geno

tall or short? it doesnt matter as long as its 3-row and it has a high SEER rating (more fins to route more air to the core instead of just a fly by).

Don't know which cools better but I know my new tall 2-row cools noticeably better than the stock single row. I got it thru www.rockauto.com; Spectra Premium or some damn thing, app. $127.00 delivered. Rockauto has great service too.

If you're gonna eventually ditch the doghouse cooler, wouldn't it make more sense to go with the short 3-row? That is, if they fit the same. Then the air-to-oil cooler goes underneath, doesn't it?

ROckauto.com and radiators.com are both good. Why do you need a special radiator? Why do you think more rows will help? Make sure your fan is working properly, too.

Be sure to replace all the hoses (rad and heater) when you do it.

I got my radiator from radiators.com, the interface is retarded and when they call you the person is usually clueless to everything... The guy I talked to had no idea what a comma was... lol... but anyways even though I read the address to him like 3 times he still managed to get it completely wrong. The Rad ended up costing me about 200 American, a little much but I live in Canada so shipping was 80 dollars. The Rad arrived promptly within 3 days and the product was very nice, just remember you need to use a temp sensor on top and a rad cap from the stock rad.
