They serve a purpose in some cases...

A.) They direct more air into the radiator and engine compartment.
B.) They stop air from going under the car and therefore increase downforce (or reduce lift.)

I agree the large snowplow ones look ridiculous... The ones where the air dam is for a widebody car, but the car itself isn't a widebody... That kinda ****... But a simple setup like he's got is nice.
