New to the Forum...First RX-7
Hey guys, I'm new to the forum here and I'll be getting my first rotary powered car soon . Can't wait. This will be my first rotary powered car but I'm sure I'll like it. It's a 1982 Mazda RX-7. I use to own Z Cars and I got so use to those and the information about them, so now I'll have to get use to the RX-7.
I've allready been searching the forum for the information I need, so there is no need to tell me to search first.

Alright, I'll post some pictures when I get the car. I'm leaving for Florida tonight with my parents to go on vacation for a week. On the way back home from Florida, we're stopping in Virginia by Richmond to pick up the RX-7. I just hope there's no snow when we get back so I can take the car on a few drives but weather can be so unpredictable in New England.
Actually I can post a pic. of the car now, one that the owner gave me.
Here is a pic of the RX-7, that the owner gave me.

Thanks, here is some more information about the car. It has around 89,000 miles and has been garage kept since 1985. Hopefully it won't turn out to be badly rusted underneath because I had the problem with Z cars.

Have RX-7, will restore

usually if the previous owner takes care of the car you wont have to worry a whole lot about rust, especially since the car was garage kept! it seems like you're getting a great deal! the wors rust on these cars is inne wheel well rust and lower control arm mount rust. that evil rust can destroy a 7 in a hurry.

Welcome, since you where alrady into Z cars I'm sure your familiar with Victoria British, they will be your good friend for the Rx too, only know they're called BlackDragonAuto for the Rx.

Yeah, I'm familiar with VB, I got a couple of there Z catalogs but I haven't bought anything from them.
I'll be sticking with the Rotary Engine, but I'll be modifying it.

Terrified.
Yeah I always neglect the entire piston swappers. I forget that people are like that....
Horrible nightmares will surely come tonight thanks to all of you reminding me of such blasphemous affairs!

Pic didn't work.
You'll enjoy driving that 7 thru the gorgeous New Hampshire woods, especially in the fall when the leaves are in full color. The 82 is a little lighter than some of the later models and is quite responsive on quick winding roads with short turns. Have fun, but don't crash and hurt yourself (or the 7), please. I always check the brakes and cooling system thhoroughly right away when I adopt a new rotary. Might as well replace ALL the fluids, including hydraulics, and put something like Redline MTF in the transmission and like Redline LSD lube in the diff.
This is the right place to come with questions, problems, searches for parts, etc.
