New to the forum

Hey everyone, I'm new to the forum and just bought my first rx-7 in June. It is an 84 12a with 72k miles no rust and completely stock. The car runs great it is my daily driver and I'm having alot of fun with it but have some questions. First, i found a very slow leak in the hydraulic clutch line which I will eventually fix and was wondering if anyone else had this problem, but it isn't bad I've only had to fill the fluid once after putting 1000 miles on the car. Also, sometimes when the engine is under a load such as when I pull away from a stoplight, or start on a hill, I can hear a chattering noise in the undercarriage of the car. After filling the clutch resevoir with fluid, the sound mostly went away but still happens once in a while. I have yet to get under the car to see what it is but I plan to make sure nothing is loose, hopefully it's not a major problem. The car is all stock but I have plans to put on a Bonez exhaust that goes from the manifold and includes a high flow cat-converter. I want to leave the stock cat-back on because I dont want it to be much louder pluss it isn't in bad shape. Sorry for the long post but any suggestions are appreciated.

Welcome to the forum. glad you are enjoying your new car.
On the leak, is it form the hard line at a fitting or the rubber hose and leaking thru the hose?
whatever it is it needs to fixed asap because it will get worse. Then you will be stuck because you will lose hydraulic pressure and will not be able to disengage the clutch.
Is the chattering associated with the car shaking as you attempt to take off or is it just a noise?

The leak is next to the bleed valve where there is some kind of instrument(for lack of a better word) with 2 bolts. I'll probably look at it and try and fix it tommorow after work I dont have to drive it to work tommorow but I do Tuesday. The chattering doesn't necessarily happen when I am accelerating hard but maybe it is just a noise.

That is the clutch slave cylinder. Is it leaking where the hose goes into the slave or at the bleeder?

I looked in my chilton's manual today after work & found that it is the slave cylinder. It seems like it is leaking near where the cylinder is bolted on, but it is only slightly wet. But it has to be leaking atleast some because I have to fill the resevoir with fluid every once in a while. I think something must be worn out or broken so I'll probably have to take it apart and find out. Atleast it is easy to get to w/ a socket wrench.
