i have a 1985 rx-7. i know that the 1984-1985 rx-7s have the 13b engines, im looking for a new engine but the 13b engines that i found say they are for 1992 or higher. i was wondering if i can drop any 13b engine in my car.

Only some had 13b's in them, they were called GSL-SE. Is this the car that you own?

The 13B SE was made for only 2 years, shortest production run of any 13B model. Any 13B can be installed, with the appropriate mods and extra work.

Welcome to the forum and the Darkside. In my sig line is a link to the online FSMs, download what you need and start reading. 13Bs, turbos and bodykits are the 3 most common 1st post by new members. All have been covered extensively, read, study, then read and study some more. The truth is out there, lol.

Look for threads on TII swaps. That will cover most of the changes needed to mount the FC engines in a 1st gen. Other than that, there are some minor wiring differences between the TIIs and NAs.

Swap info is spread out all over, but there is a thread in the archives.
