Question new car alarm

I just installed a new car alarm and it has the option of hooking up the blinkers for when it goes off.My question is where would i hook up the wire for this to work? The alarm only came with one wire and i am trying to find out if there is like a main blinker wire that will make them all turn on.Thanks.
Oh its a 85 gs

my best guess is if it is long enough then run it behind the dash to the hazard light switch then splice it up with that.

That wire should send power. In my 85 the hookup was made by the front left speaker. Not sure what color that wire was. There is a huge bundle of wires back there.

well, its just one wire and when ever you press a button on the alarm remote it makes the blinkers flash. So yeah it does send power.

im guessing you put the litle box on the driver side by your feet? if so just hook the wire up the hazard fuse in the fuse box. pretty simple

Not nessessarilly. It could be a switched ground to control a relay. Not likely, but it could be. Look in your instruction manual. It should tell you what the wire does and how it works.

I will just write what the manual says.
"This wire can power up either the headlights or the parking lights of your vehicle. You cannot do both.Connect this wire to the light wire that shows +12 volts whenever the lights are turned on. This output is a +12 volt relay output. This output will flash the lights for panic alarm and car finder features, plus let you turn on your lights to light your way at night. We recommend that you connect this wire to the parking lights wire that measures +12 volts when the parking lights are on. This will give a visual indication from both the front and rear of the vehicle".

Ok! I dug out the wiring diagram I made when I did my install. The parking lights (Red/Green) wire located at the light switch. Use the + side!!!!!!!!!
Now here is were it gets fun! Go to the front left kick panel. Pull the molding that runs along the door sill. You will see a huge bundle of wires that are taped up. Unroll that tape. You will have to go thru all the wires until you find the Red/Green wire. Now put a 12volt test light to it and turn on your parking lights. The test light should get power. Don't worry about frying anything because of the minimal electronics in the car. It my take some time to hunt down the wire, but be patient.

John

Why is the alarm in the engine bay??? It should be under the dash somewhere. The only thing that should be in the engine bay is the siren. To run that wire in you use a gromet. There should be one right over the brake master.
