Need wiring help

I am installing a cd player in my 79 and i can't find my multimeter. Does anyone know which wire is the hot/ground for this model because i want to do it right.

connect your battery and brush the wires you suspect might be hot against your shifter...

if it sparks it's hot.

NO NO NO!! That's not how you test for voltage. If you absolutely can't find a voltmeter, borrow one. If you can't find one to borrow, get the wiring diagram. If you can't do that, make a tester out of a 12 volt lamp and a couple of wires.

I got it and now I am "beatin out tha frame dogg" or at least I can listen to music while i drive. Thanks for the help.
