Need Timing Help!

Alright, I just put the 2nd gen coil on, without the transistor trick, and I cant seem to keep the steady idle i had, and the power is different, not really better. It looses up high, around 5k.. sucks bad. I'm just trying to figure out where the timing mark should be, any suggestions?

You can try adjusting the timing by ear/feel. But you should really get a timing light on it and do it the "correct" way. Most likely, that is your issue (assuming that you actually have spark on the lead).

Well this is what I'm using, is a timing light. When I hook it up, what should be my marks set at? should the mark on the left or right be on the mark pin?

Not sure if this helps but on my Mazda Rx7 Haynes manual it said,
Star the engine and, with the timing light aimed at the indicator pin, slowly turn the distributor housing until the pin aligns with the leading timing mark on the pulley.
so far if your pulley wheel is good there should be two colors. Example (yellow) for leading and (red) for trailing. You should aligns those to the pin behind the pulley wheel.

Good luck with that! I will be doing the same thing tomorrow morning.
