Exclamation In need of some serious help

Hi everyone. I am fairly new to this rotory thing and if anyone can help I could sure use it. I recently purchest a 84 gsl-se. It has a mikuni carb on a newer 13b with a header and tuned exaust. The motor runs strong but is out of tune. I tried to tune her my self and I'm not doing well. It is a lot worse than when I started. So you all can help me I will go into detail. When I bought her she seem to need stuff. The idle was high and she stutterd at low rpms. The fuel pump went so I replaced it. It ran better after this but still stutterd at low to mid rpms and also still ideled high (1500-1700 rpms) The Haynes manual said the idle should be set to 750 rpms. I don't know if this is different because of the mikuni carb. This car was originaly fuel injected. When I get the idle near that low it is inconstant and sometimes stalls. Next, I have no idea if the timing marker on the pully is still acurate do to the modifications. also, there is no red marker to indicate the trailing ignition. So what I am hoping for is some direction to fix this mess. I am going to have to start from scratch as if I just put the carb on and the timing was not set at all. My car is running so off right now I am afraid to drive it PLEASE HELP! I can't afford a mechanic right now. I will be forever thankfull.

Thanks,
Jerotorme
