Need Some RX-7 Help!

First off, I know nothing about Rx-7's, and neither does any mechanic within a two hundred mile radius off me. My RX-7 is an 84 body with an 87 engine. It has a few problems, some more serious than others. One of them is that there is a great deal of smoke coming out of my exhaust, it is white smoke. I can still drive the car, well at least around the yard, but no way can it be used on the road. I've been told it is oil, but it is not bluish, although it does smell that way. I've also been told it is coolant, but my car still has full coolant level, does not overheat and it does not smell that way. Any ideas?
Also, when I'm driving, (before the smoking started), and I'd floor the car, it would la and miss. Seems to do it after the second gear, could it be my turbo, or something else all togther.
Any help would be great, becuase I have no clue what to do.

87 that'd be a 13b turbo wouldn't it... not sure only ever involved myself with 12a's. my suggestion would be if no one here can help swing by the 2nd gen forum and ask those guys they might have had similar experiences.

Oil control rings may be gone, requiring a rebuild, or the turbo oil seals may be gone. Pull the turbo to intercooler duct and look for oil. If it's oily definitely the turbo.

Need more details/history on the engine and turbo, mileage, stock, etc..
