Question Need some confirmation..

Hey all,

Just in the process of getting my 5th & 6th ports to open off of my air pump.

I took a few pics..just want to make sure I'm connecting to the right place:

First one is a pick of a small metal nipple next to the ACV, I think this is where I need to connect my teeing hose off of the airpump.

However, I also have a large hose disconnected that looks like it attaches off the side of the intake manifold. (pic 2).

Can someone with the FSM tell me which one of these normally connects to the split pipe off the cat. What would the other hose be for?

Thanks,

F-

Here's the 2nd pic of the bigger hose that goes nowhere.

Cheers,

Anyone know? It's gonna take a few weeks before my FSM gets here and I don't really have any good resources.

Thx,

I can't help you much, but I would recommend you post this question in the 2nd Gen Forum. There there are plenty of N/A 13B's with the 6 port mod.

Over here, there are only a handful of GSL-SE's and I think only one or two of them have done any kind of mod to the actuators.

Good Luck.

They both do, actually.

D in the diagram is the larger hose, the one in your second pic. The ACV uses it to add air to the cat. Presuming you're cat is gone, you won't need it.

C is the hose that normally goes to the nipple on the manifold in your first pic. It goes through a passage in the manifold to both actuators. That is the one you want to apply air pressure to.

Thanks!

Well I replaced my exhaust, so the replacement cat didn't have the extension for the split air pipe.

Is it worth it to connect that big hose. Perhaps emissions is one? Could it affect my idle speed (don't think this is likely, but since I had it back after my tranny was done it hasn't been the same)?

That was exactly what I was lookin' for thanks.
