need some advice on a trade!

okay well my t2 went bye bye 3 weeks ago ''seal''. And it is lightly modded with ss autochrome t-back exhaust, SAfc-2, greddy profec b spec2, HKS FCD, hks intake, 17 konig imagines, relocated battery, very nice saphire blue.

well i have someone who wants to trade me straight across for his 83 widebody with a s4 13b dellorto carb, RB intake manifold, header, full coilover susp. w/ adjustable camber plates inthe front, panhard bar, RB sway bars, mustang rad w/ pushing e-fan, 100 autocross miles, brake biasing, panasport wheels, racing seats, the list goes on.

I am just wanting some opinions from some 1st gen owners who have had both FB and FC's. What would you consider this trade? Good or bad.

This car is set up for auto-x but is very streetable. Car is immaculate and no rust dents etc. Just lemme know what ya think. Thanks

Well, i've never had a fc, but it sounds like a good trade. I lover the first gens. They're the best in my opinion. Post pics of it if you can. How many miles? Check for rust in the normal spots. Behinmd the storage bins.

this car has absolutely no rust. I mean none! 100 auto-x miles, i also forgot to mention the brakes are s4 discs.

I have owned a a few fb's too. 81gsl, 83LE, and a 85 GSL_SE. I loved them all but man theres nothihng like a turbo Rotary. But with these mods i am sure the car is just as fun.
I was just wanting to get some advice from people who have had these set ups with the 13b and dellorto etc.

13b with the dellorto is a great all around setup in cold weather the intake can ice up is the only problem. i would still be running my dellorto but felt it was on the small side when i went the half bridgeport 13b now running a 48 ida sound like a good trade but depends on what you want

Post pics of both cars. Just to give you an idea, my widebody build up is in the last line of my sig. I have 6k in parts alone, body kit was 1k. The one you are looking at has many more race parts installed than I even plan on getting too. If you feel the need to turbo the 1st gen, you have a good platform to start with, way ahead of the curve for most that start from scratch.

If your TII engine is toast, the value drops considerably and you don't have many aftermarket parts on it to begin with it. What would you value your TII at as it sits now? As for the widebody, the suspension, intake, exhaust and wheels would cost over 2k to replace. If the body kit is a full Mariah widebody, the kit alone runs 3-4k plus install.

Would I take the trade, hell yeah, then I'd start looking for the TII engine and tranny to swap in and when done, make the po really sorry he sold it. lol

Thanks trochoid! YOur ride is ............well, ******* badass. Sorry but it is. My kit is exactly like yours. The guy that built this car was very wealthy and spared no expenses in the project. I would love to drop a t2 motor but this one is like new itself.

Also i was wondering what the typical HP #'s were for a set up like this. S4 13b with the dellorto/RB set up, plus a streeport i hear, is good for about 160-180? I know thats a good amount for the FB platform. JUst curious to know. Thanks again everyone!

well my kit is not as extreme as yours trochoid. I believe mine is the victoria british. No lip in the front like yours and i dont beleive my kit extends like yours as much over the wheels. Maybe i am just seeing it differently.

It looks great. I would take it if my parents would let me if I was in your shoes. I'm not totally sure, but i would say you would be up in the high 100's hp wise. Go for it. Hopefully you can make it street legal.

Thanks buddy. Yeah i was assuming probably 160ish. It is street legal all lights wipers work. I am getting excited about this already. The first gens really are beautiful cars when they are all intact and been taken care of.

Stock S4 NA 6-port with FI puts out 146 fwhp. Add another 15-20 or so with the headers. If you want more hp, NA, rebuild it as a 4-port with TII end plates. You can port the TII end irons more than the NA ones and get more hp.

That kit is narrower than mine, looks like it might be the Mariah one. Can't tell for sure because those pics are too small. Mine didn't come from BD, but it's the same kit they list.

well as it is right now i really do not wanna mess with a motor that has onlyt 100 miles on it. My time is limited for doing such projects anyways. I think that with htis set up, the power to weight ratio will be very adaquate

well boys and girls the deal just went south. He has some issues with space and cannot trade me because he has nowhere to put the t2. So he is opting to sell it. No worries though as i will gladly rebuild the t2 and get her back on the road where she surely belongs. Thanks for all the helpfull advice Trochoid, you were a big help.

I still will be frequenting the first gen section to see how all of you are doing from time to time. Until then..................
