Need Part # for 84-5 rear Wheel Brng

Went to Mazda today to order a rear wheel bearing for a 85 GSL-SE and the parts man said his catalog only goes back to 86. He would have to call Mazda someplace to try and find the part #.

Does anyone have a current Mazda brand part # for a rear wheel bearing and collar?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the help!
On a side note, why do you have to supply your VIN now for such an older vehicle?

Also, the parts manager said that since Mazda recently switched to a different type of system/catalog that they can only go back to '86 unless you have a part #. Is there a work-around for this?

if you can't find a part # how can you access the system/inventory for years before '86?

Any bearing shop would have a bearing, seal and retainer for your rx7

mazda still has the old parts fisches available for some vehicles on their website, but that means you have to download an Adobe file and dig through 170+ pages to find what you are looking for. More experienced parts guys at dealerships can typically find what you are looking for tho

they did just switch to a web based parts catalog, which is the biggest POS, its actually worse than the old microfiche we had in the 90's.

so i guess if the 85 and earlier stuff isn't in there, you have to look it up the same way you have to look up ford parts.... the listings for the ford supplied stuff were ridiculous, they would have 18 different alternator belts, and so you had to get the number from the old one to get a new one.

or this one time, we needed a seat for a ford tribute, and it wasn't listed in the parts catalog, but i called, and it turned out they had a warehouse full. how they expect to sell a warehouse full of parts that aren't in a parts catalog is beyond me.
