need new seatbelt for 1979 SA

So the drivers seatbelt for my 79 RX7 doesn't work, and I was told I need to buy buy a new one, and I was recommended that it be OEM. The closest thing I could find was was a seatbelt from an 84 RX7 FB GSL, I was wondering if I could use that one, or if anyone could point me to the right direction for one I could use? Thank you.

welcome to the board.

i think they all have the same seatbelts, so you should be fine.

Have you checked the parts for sale section on here? Here is a link to a 79 being parted out. He might have a 79 seat belt harness / reciever.

Looks like changing the seat belts must be a royal pain. I don't even know how you get to the retractor mechanism which is behind a metal bulkhead.

Thanks! I'll have to look a little closer. Tight space, probably just missed the bolts holding the metal cover on.
