need new engine

Im looking for a new motor. can anyone reccomend where to go?
my s5 core could possibly be just junk and i cant really and dont want to wait to afford a 3500 dollar motor.

ive found jspec motors for under 1k but id rather have something that i KNOW is good. the 1 or 2 shops i called were really vague about what they would charge me.
