I'm scared to ask.... anyone else care to do the honours? No? Ok.... I'll do it.....

WHY DO YOU NEED A 12,000 RPM+ TACHOMETER?

You'd better have hardened stationary gears, carbon apex seals, clearanced rotors, etc, etc, etc.... Oh, and a Peripheral Port....

try a company called STACK they do lots of tacho's that will exceed 12'000 RPM .. they aren't cheap though

a new motor is probably cheaper than one of those tachos

I know plenty of people with cars that will rev beyond 12'000 Rpm ...

but they are all kit cars and have engines made by yamaha , suzuki or honda etc.

Still 1 litre 120Bhp and 0-60 in <5 seconds can't be bad !

1-5 is small because your motor probably couldn't idle there if you need that high of a tach.

you could use a 0 -8000 after market tach for a V8 ... that would under read the revs an effectively become a 0 -16000 Rpm tacho ... it would also double the inacuracy though
