Unhappy need help with timing

hey guys i hate to start another thread about this but i am so confused. i have a rebuilt 12 a bridge port 48ida i just took the spring out of the distributor i have msd blaster 2 coils but it wont start. i read alot about making marks at 24 btdc but there is so many difrent opinions that just made me more confused. i just want it to start and run i dont want to get every bit of power out of it please help

If you're setting the timing just to get it to start, you need to find TDC manually (the pulley may not be lined up properly after the rebuild), position the rotor at TDC, and stab the distributor so the ignition rotor in the distributor is pointing at the contact for the front #1 leading spark plug. This will give you roughly 0° advance at idle and should be enough to get it started. You can set the ignition timing anywhere you wish after that.
