Need help: SA auto to manual swap

I am currently in the middle of a 5 speed swap for my dads car and i have a 85 gslse parts car i am running into an issue with the pedals. THe clutch pedal o the gslse has a large spring that has no mounting location on the SA. Do i need the 79-80 pedal to make it a straight swap or am i going to have to fabricate no matter what? Just want to know if there is a bolt on pedal swap taht will make the swap easier.

Thanks in advance

hmmmm. good question. I dont know the answer to this one. This is all I can tell ya. During a FB-SA suspension swap, I tried to use the FB's brake booster but it was hitting the clutch master. It turned out that the FB's brake booster is larger than the SA. I cant confirm if the pedals are spread further out.

You will want to get the pedals out of a 79-80. I believe each series of Rx-7 has its own SLIGHTLY different pedal design. When I was swapping over my 85 I tried to put in the pedals from an 83 and it didn't work. They were just barely different. However, the difference was enough to keep the pedals from working correctly in my car. I would highly suggest that you get a set of pedals out of a 79-80 to make things easier on yourself. The pedals are the hardest part of the swap, so you don't want to have to take them in and out 5 times like I did. Good luck!

I am looking at doing the same swap. I can use a S4 n/a tranny correct? Same trouble as swaping in a T2 right? Custom driveshaft and the like.
