Full exhaust, complete intake, and remove rats nest. Gut the car if you really want to get in the racing mode.

A stock 85 12A GSL for $3000?!?!?! In that case, hell, I've got a full exhaust, and Racing Beat Holley conversion. Mine's pretty fast. If anyone wants to buy it, $5000! That way I can buy a Spec7 car.

Replace your fuel filter if you haven't yet. That can make a huge difference in itself. Also, check the timing. Aside from that, just hit all of the typical tuneup items and you may have solved the problem.
