Need help from a parts fiche master...

I generally regard myself as being self sufficient when it comes to finding things in the parts fiches. However, I have to admit that this one is really kicking my butt. I'm trying to find where the oil cooler mounts are located at in the parts fiche. (This would be for a 79-82 front mount air-to-oil cooler.) The oil cooler itself shows up in section 1500 of the parts fiche, but for some reason I don't see the rubber isolator mounts in that section anywhere? What gives?

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know Mazdatrix sells them too. But I usually buy all of my parts from onlinemazdaparts.com, because they sell the same stuff for a much lower price, assuming you know the Mazda part number.

Mazdatrix lists the parts numbers as 15-3120-8871 and 15-312A-1128 for the left and right sides respectively. I know that Mazdatrix also likes to use the OEM part numbers and scramble them up. Where are the rubber oil cooler brackets at in the parts fiche? They've got to be in there somewhere! Why can't I find them?

Are they in the suspension section or someplace that wouldn't make any sense?

HELP!

Thanks,
Jamie

parts fiche lists them on page 1-L-4. the part numbers may have been superceeded, but are as follows:

left side- 8871-15-312
right side- 1128-15-312a

www.mazda-parts.com confirms both part numbers being good and still available

All Mtrix does to the part numbers is move the first group to the end, and if the final group has no letter suffix, they add a zero.

So, Mazda xxxx-yy-zzz becomes Mtrix yy-zzz0-xxxx.

Secret code, yo.

Oh, and the two-digit number in the Mazda part number corresponds to the fiche section the part is in -15- is in 1500, etc.

Thanks for the tip Glen! Okay here's one more difficult one. Who can find this same oil cooler rubber isolator mount, but this time for a 2nd gen non turbo? I looked in the same spot in the parts fiche, and the rubber isolator just isn't there. What the heck Mazda? I know that the part number is N326-14-750 (by un-doing the Mazda trix trickery). But I'm telling you, that thing just isn't in there! I seriously think that Mazda forgot to put it in the diagram. I have looked all over for it. Can anyone find it in the parts fiche?

I don't think it's in there. By the way, in case you couldn't tell, I'm working on mounting a FMOC for Gus. Thanks for the help fellas!

weird, the FC oil cooler mount is in the picture, 14-705, but 14-705 doesn't occur on the other side.... which means there is a bulletin or parts flash or something correcting the error....

the 89-90 catalog is correct, N326-14-705

just to add, quickly. these are not absolute rules either, there are always parts that don't follow the scheme

the XXXX gives you the original application, IE N201 is an 81 12A, N249 is 84 12A, FA01 is an 81 chassis part, etc etc. oddly FE01 is an Rx8 and an 83 626 engine

YY is the group number. 15 is cooling, 14 is oil, 11 is the crankshaft, 27 is the rear diff, etc etc

ZZZ is the part. so 15-200 is a radiator, 16-410 is a pressure plate. 52-111 is a right fender.

if there is a letter after the ZZZ, its the change code. if there is a change in the part, it gets a new letter, so an 8871-52-111A has some revision over 8871-52-111. however sometimes it can be a price change, or a vendor change so its not always clear if there is a difference in the actual part.

the color code, if there is one is 2 digits tacked on the end. so like FB01-61-141A-48 is blue and FB01-61-141A-02 is black.

so when mazdatrix puts the center bit in the front, it actually makes sense in the warehouse.

if you look you will find that Mercedes and Porsche use a system that is very similar to Mazda.

Thanks guys! Got the mounts ordered from Onlinemazdaparts.com. If you haven't used them before, I would HIGHLY recommend them. That's where I get all my parts from now. Mazdatrix lists the mounts for $39.95 each. I got them for $34 each from onlinemazdaparts.com. I used the savings to buy some touchup paint for the wife's Mazda 5.
