well i took off the gas tank and turns out it is in great shape. so i took of the gas lines and blew them out one by one and got another fuel pump just in case the one i had was bad. i know it cant be the cat becuase i released the beeds or poured out the lead pellets inside it a long time ago i was wondering if any one had any other ideas cuase i am trying everything here and nothing is working. trochoid could it be the performance wires i put on?becuase that is around the time the problem started.

Typically a clogged cat bogs down with heavy throttle inputs ie high volume of exhaust cause back pressure to rocket. Thus bogging down an engine. And his problem seemed temperature dependent, I'd think a clogged cat would be a continous deal.

The contacts on the dimmer are likely corroded. Many people have had success by disconeccting the battery, and spraying electrical contact cleaner into the dimmer, and working it back and forth. If this doesn't help, you may need to disassemble it, and use emory cloth to clean the contacts.
Of course, you could always just fake out the inspector by pulling back on the dimmer, and holding it.

Headlight fix = https://www.rx7club.com//showthread.php?t=441702 Keep in mind that after I wrote this, it was discovered that usually you can just use the nozzle on the can to reach inside the switch without any disassembly needed. Good luck.

Loosen the joint before the cat, it will be loud, but if she stays running you have a clogged cat.
