Need help Id'ing 2 wires in ignition harness
The wires are 1 green wire and 1 red /yellow stripe wire that terminate in a 3 prong plug (wires in mouth and right eye if looking head on). They are part of the plastic wrapped ignition switch harness.
The long story....
I tracked down the source of my intermittant starting problem to the 12 year old alarm that was wired into my ignition switch harness. When I pulled the old harness from my car I immediatly saw 2 wires with solder on the ends that had broken loose from whatever they were soldered to. I thought I solved my problem. When I pulled the one from my parts car (both 85 SE's) I noticed these wires had also broken lose but were taped up. I swapped the harnesses after IDing all ignition related wires in the factory manual and my car starts right up. So my question is what are these disconnected wires (everything appears to work normally - lights, wipers, etc..) I did see one of the wires in the diagram (red/yel but it looked to be for a headlight cleaner? (If I rem right) any ideas?
thanks -Erik
