Need help identifying something

What is the little sensor that is screwed into the floor under the passenger seat on my 1985 GS? I knew at one time, but have since forgotten. It is underneath the carpet, and is held in by two sheet metal screws. There are two wires going to it, both of them tan. I can provide pictures if I have confused everyone....

Thanks,
Jamie

Ok, that's what I was thinking. Does it measure the temperature of the passenger side floor board or what? There isn't a probe going down to the exhaust or anything. It just mounts flat on the passenger side floor.

It's an on/off state thermometer that measures the temp of the floor pan.

Passenger-side methane leak detector.

It sounds the over-rev buzzer if your date tries to sneak one off and then blame the smell on your rotary.
