Need help with fender hardware (What goes where?)

Hey guys,

I finally got around to putting the driver's side front fender back on and it's been a while, so I need some help figuring out where some of the hardware goes.

3 small 10mm bolts with no collars on them
1 black plastic push in plug
1 black plastic expanding style screw in plug

There was a handful of 10mm bolts with the big washer/flange things on them, but I figured out where most of them go. I need to know where the black plastic plugs and the 3 10mm bolts without the collars go. I'm thinking that they go up by the front bumper on the triangular brace, but really not sure.

I can provide pictures if this fails to make any sense at all. Hopefully some of you guys have done this job on a regular basis and remember what I'm talking about.

Jamie

The 3 bolts with no collars go on that triangle brace on the inside front of the fender like you suspsect.
The plastic plugs are confusing me, a pic might help with them. They aren't the plugs that hold the rubber hood seal on top of the firewall are they?

Sean, I'll get a pic of the plastic plugs when I get home. The 3 small bolts had me confused because they are all right there next to each other. It seems like overkill to have 3 bolts there. Looks like two would get the job done. Anyway, I'll get some pictures of those two plastic plugs today when I get home.

One other thing, the bolt that holds the very front corner of the fender against the valence/nose piece. Is it supposed to be one of those big collared bolts or one of the little ones? I seem to be one bolt short and it is what started this confusion in the first place.

I used 2 bolts to hold that triangle bracket to the fender, and one to hold that bracket to the body, 3 would be overkill on just the fender side. I'm not positive, but I think a flange-bolt (thats the technical name for the bolt with the washer built into the head) would probably be better since the hole in the header panel is quite large to allow for adjustment.
I'll also add that you're putting way too much though into this

Hahaha! Right you are! It just bugs the crap out of me because I have these two ziploc bags with every bolt for both fenders. Haven't lost or broken anything. It would bother me to have everything I need to put it back the same way that it came apart, and then not do it.

Bear with me. It's just another of my **** tendencies.

Pictures shortly.......

Okay, let's put this thing to rest. I've made a list of all the hardware and taken pictures of each.

7 flanged bolts
3 regular bolts
1 nut
1 screw in black plastic plug
1 push in black plastic plug

I believe that the flanged bolts go on the top 5 holes on the fender, and then the bottom two that I have labeled. The three nuts I was thinking all go in the triangular brace. The screw in black plastic plug goes to the bottom of the front bumper cover as labeled.

So where does the push in black connector go, and what are you supposed to use where the fender meets the front valence? I know there is a clip with a nut that goes on the valence right there, I have it still. I just don't know where the missing bolt is. Does the black plastic plug go into the plastic fender liner or something?

plastic goes to the bumper, screw on top push pin on bottom
the nose peice has a clip on nut , but a washerless bolt goes there.

Ok, I think you've got me all straightened out then. But just to make sure....

In order from top to bottom.
1) Washerless bolt
2) Plastic push in plug
3) Washerless bolt
4) Plastic screw-in plug

Which would mean that the third washerless bolt I THOUGHT went into the triangular brace piece, REALLY holds the fender up against the valence.

Right?
Thanks a ton
