Question need help with driver's power window

I need some help/advice on my driver's side window
here's the deal..once in awhile when the window rolls up the glass comes off track, basically causing the glass to start its way into the inside of the door rather than stay flush with it, to correct it, I have to roll it back down then apply pressure to the front part near the mirror to keep it on track..then it's fine once again..the motor works fine...after I took the door apart I couldn't see anything out of place etc..lubed up the mechanism and it worked great for awhile...so my question is:
am I missing a tab or something that keeps the glass flush?
or do I need a whole new regulator mechanism?
im not against the somewhat expensive replacement regulator but if it's something simple so be it
any help appreciated

Bad news - you need a new window rack; about $180 at VB.

The reason why the glass starts to tilt in the channel is because there are small plastic rollers that run in the tracks in the rack to keep the scissors mechanism straight when the motor powers the window up. When these little nylon rollers get old, they crack, and then fall down into the door and then the scissor mechanism is running on the remaining metal rods that used to hold the plastic rollers in place. You can get by for awhile by pushing back on the front edge of the glass as you power the window up, but this gets old really quick. Only one-shot fix is to buy a new rack from VB and replace your existing motor on the new rack, install the new rack and align the glass, and you're done.

While you're in there, you might want to change out the window track felt strip and the outter rubber flange that keeps water from going down into the door. Replacing the felt track will also help to keep the window straight, but realize that it will take some minor adjustments fore and aft, up and down, to get the window to track straight.

It's a labor of love, so get to lovin'. HTH,

After years of putting up with the same problem I just replaced the window regulator and all three pieces of rubber (inner and outer weatherstrip at the sill and the glass channel). I ordered the parts from Malloy Mazda and they shipped out in 2 or 3 days.....price for the regulator was less than VB (about $169 I think.) The weatherstripping was less expensive too. The only parts I had to reuse were the window motor and the coiled spring of the regulator. Works great now. Good luck.

My window is doing the exact same thing. I bought some window regulators, thinking that's what I needed, off of ebay. They only ran me about $15 each with the motor and a guarrantee that they'll work. But I'm also going to need all the rubber pieces so I was wondering if you could give me the web site address to Malloy Mazda?
