You don't need to take the carb apart. Have you verified that you have spark to the plugs, both leading and trailing?

Did you pull a plug and verify that it is not wet with fuel?

You still have not answered the questions. No one is going to be able to help you unless you can give good information back and answer direct questions.

Like I stated before. Have you verified that you have spark to both the leading and trailing plugs?

Try this attached link.

link to the question about the trailing ignitor.

https://www.rx7club.com/1st-gen-archive-71/electrical-car-died-wont-start-my-tach-not-working-car-84-85-a-597857/

It is in the archive section and that is where alot of the more common things are kept as well as the other link I gave you which is in the FAQ section.

what exactly does the trailing ignitor have to do with the fuel pump working or not?

Yes that means the trailing ignitor is working.

The trailing ignitor is the one closest to the alternator.

You can either do that or buy some basic tools, read related threads about no start problems then perform the tests that are listed in the threads. Or you can pay someone $70 or hour to diagnose. :-)

Sounds like an ignitor is shot. Don't pay $130 for an ignitor, go to your local Pick n Pull or else post a WTB here: plenty guys have extras.

VERIFY THE DAMN SPARK ALREADY!!!

For God's sake man, why sit around wondering if you have a bad ignitor when it could be confirmed or eliminated as a suspect so easily? Find out if they're sparking on both the leading and trailing.

My heartfelt suggestion is if you want any continuing help, take the advice that has been given and follow through with it. If you can't manage to read the listed threads and perform the diagnostics needed, you will either end spend a good deal of money paying for someone else to repair your car, or selling it out of frustration, hopefully to someone who will take the time to care for it properly.

We're all here to help and guide you with maintaining and repairing your 7, we cannot and do not, however, hold your hand for you over the internet. This may sound harsh, but that's reality, deal with it.
