Need Help: 84 GS - Brakes

So Ive been commuting lately (100+ miles daily) and my car has taken a beating.

One of the several problems is that when I go to brake the pedal goes loose and almost... again almost reaches the floor BUT it still does engage and the car slows down normally. Once i feel the initial "looseness" i let the pedal up and push down again ( i dont pump it, just remove and depress again) and it is fine and by fine I meen firm; in that it goes in about 2 - 3 inches and brakes good.

This happens pretty often:
Just some extra info:

*Brake fluid is good and checked regularly
*Brake cylinder and pads are less then a year old ~ 8 months
*Rear Brake (drums) Cylinders : Brand New 1 week old from Victoria British Auto

I dont know where to check because if there was a leak I would loose fluid correct?
also if there was a leak it would feel fine after i remove my foot and depress it again.

Thanks for the help,

-Aure

Just had similar problems on my GSL and had to change the brake master cylinder.

Make sure you bleed the brake lines, as well as the master cylinder.

Are the rear brakes adjusted properly? When I had drums on mine, the auto adjusters never worked due to a dead parking break. So, every few months I'd have to adjust them manually to pick up the slack.

Otherwise, sounds like air in the lines or a failing master cylinder..
