need help 79 carb
ok.
got the car
and started making it run
got to run ok but figure it was a fuel problem
bought a re-build kit and all is well except cant figre out the linkage or primarys and scondarys
BUT, it wasnt right to begin with so its not like i forgot the primarys will not open all the way? and secondarys will not open at all..... there is a rod that goes to the front of the motor that is conected to the end of linkage..... is that somthing that i need? somthing i can take off? or somthing that self adjusts to actally allow the throutle to open?
I dont have a clue but want to fix it thanks.........

Do the primaries open all the way if you manually actuate the throttle shaft?
If so, you simply need to adjust the slack in the accelerator cable.
The secondaries will not open while the car is stationary.
They're vacuum-actuated, so they will only open under load.
As for the rod at the front of the motor, that connects the oil metering pump to the throttle, so that oil can be added to the fuel as needed to lubricate the internal seals of the engine.
