White smoke?
Ok.are you loosing coolant?
Did you start it with ATF or just normal ?

Its not the Apex seals ,you might have a leaky Master cylinder.White smoke is normally brake fluid burning

Welcome to the forum!

Forget the brake fluid comment above.

If the smoke happens only when you first start the car, I'd say this is normal for a rotary. Here's some reading material for ya.

You say it's really bad. hmmm..... are you loosing coolant? Does the exhaust smell like coolant?

Oh and no, smoke at startup is not a typical symptom of failing apex seals.

the smoke doesnt smell like oil or gasoline...but it only smokes when i start it up and then stops smoking when the car has warmed up. and its not just a little bit of smoke, you can see the car or anything around it when it smokes also the car dosent really have that much power. my stock 12a whoops this cars *** and this car has a fuel injected 13b. but thanks for all of the input.

have you put anything in the engine or gas that would clog up or pollute the cats? i would say that because it is cold that could have something to do with it. my 85 smokes more when it is cold than when it is warm. clears up after a couple minutes

as for the slowness, check to see if the cats are clogged. also, make sure the 5th and 6th ports are opening. if you have an aftermarket exhaust that is not RB, that may be your problem.

I havent added anything to the gas or motor. the cats on my 83 clogged up and my car ran like ****...then i changed the exhaust and it was fine, but it never smoked. you think that the cats could be clogged on my 85? and maybe there is oil build up in the cats for it smoking? also how would i check to see if the 5th and 6th ports are opening?
