need carb and manifold for 84 GSL...opinions?
I just got an 84 GSL, but it doesnt have a carb or intake manifold on it. I will be putting a different engine in before too long, so I want something very cheap. Any ideas on the cheapest way I can get a manifold/carb on this car so I can drive it some before it becomes my garage queen?
P.S. It is going to be my project car, getting a 90 j-spec TII engine and tranny, and all the goodies, and a very sweet body to go with it.

I can sell you a carb and manifold. the carb is a little fucked; hesitates and bog, but if you need it for only temporary there is nothing wrong with it. the carb and man. are from an '84 GSL.
Now, other options:
Find a used '79-'80 intake manifold. from a junkyard or elsewhere. they flow better than the later ones. You could even send the carb and manifold off to Paul Yaw and have it modded for ~20-25 hp. Anyways, if you need a cheap carb and manifold that WORKS and is perfectly safe, PM me

How much do you want for that? The engine needs a very heavy dose of ATF, and I dont think it will last too long after that anyways. But if the price is right, I might get that from you. Ill have to check the junkyards around here to see if I can get a manifold, and maybe a carb too.
Thanks for the help.

Kinda hard to get a 79-80 carb to work on later first gens. You'd have to somehow block the open air passage left open on the engine... the ealier manifold doesnt cover this area.
