Question Need Advice on Purchasing 79 RX7

Hey all,

Just wanted a bit of advice from all you 1st gen gods out there....

I am about to purchase a 1979 RX7 Series 1 with an upgraded 1994 13B non-turbo, 5 speed manual, LSD and nice simmons B45 mags....

Problem is a few things are worrying me....Firstly there is a little rust around the top of the windscreen which I know is not too much but is it a major hassle getting this repaired....I don't want to spend too much on it but I am willing to spend a little to fix her up....Anyone been down this track?....

Secondly....There is a chrome strip below the windscreen that has pretty much lifted off bar 2 clips....Also need a rear glass hatch seal...Are all these little parts easy to find?....

I so want this car....She's a beauty with lots of potential but I don't want to get stuck not being able to get parts....I live in Australia and know how rare these cars are here....

Thanx in advance guys....I know its alot to ask but I gathered by what I have read most of you know your 7's....

Not sure about the rust, I'll let someone else tackle that one...
The strip below the windshield can be gotten through victoria british or your local mazda dealer (I think on the dealer part)

The rear glass hatch seal is also victoria british - $99 USD iirc.

As for being rare in AUS, I'm not sure what you mean! At least, per capita, it appears that there are plenty of Aussie 7 drivers based on their forum participation here
