My stable of RX7s

Gray - 1983 GSL (tons of rust, needs a new floor and LOTS of glass beading)
Red - 1985 GSL-SE (Decent condition)
Silver 1984 GSL-SE (has one paper dollar's area of rust on the entire car)

the 83 has 260,000 miles on the chassis, it's rusted to underneath and in the drains, but the 12A in it runs STRONG (only 50k miles on it, mazda factory reman) when the piece of turd carb isn't malfunctioning, I'm liking the weber setup.

the 84 had a race engine built but the owner moved, and now I'm trying to acquire it from him by selling the red one. The body is in GREAT shape and I don't have an engine for it yet. (incase you can't in the pics, he took the engine with him )

the 85 presumably only needs a fuel injection setup, although I'm suspicious more might need to be done . I'm hoping that if I clean it up a bit I can get a couple grand out of it

Edit: I edited the thread a bit. Turbo Tension's stable of Rx7s is a cool site to see, and they're all first gens, so I thought I'd leave the thread here, but I don't want any wars over any piston-related items, so references to that are removed to prevent the war

Feel free to re-post details of said swap in the Other Engines forum

Jon

I hope to get the red one dent free, paint and rust fixed, and clean stock. The carb on the 12A I'm pretty sure is kaput sooooooo that'll be getting removed

Yeah it makes me wonder what a first gen would lok like withthe bumper removed and some mesh or something across the front.Might be kinda cool. Definitely would be lighter weight.

I Gonna try to do something with the front end of my 84 se. I really like the look of it without the front bumper. I'm thinking dropping the headlights down into the holes there and messing the middle. . I like the stout look alot better than pointy. . Anyone ever done this?

An '05 Mustang GT grill might just be the ticket for a bad *** looking FB. I was looking at the bumperlessness, and many ideas started floating in my head.

Hmmmm...so I'm not the only one who somehow ended up with a multitude 1st gen titles. I'm relieved to know it's either normal or an epidemic. Yours look better off than mine tho. I think I might be running a rescue shelter for abused 7's.
