Talking My newly accuired Sa:

As most of you know, A couple months ago I sold off all of my 7's and parts. Well that lasted a short time. Approx 3 weeks since I sold my 82 and my Se I now own a very clean 79. Got it from a very nice lady that in my opinion is a very true car enthusiast. One of her first cars was a rx2. She got this one back in 79 from a guy that had purchased it new then decided to go to Germany. It came with A/C and the guy had it removed but she has saved all of the components since then and kept them sealed. She put the later model wheels on it and had them polished. The original spare has never been on the ground because she put a later model wheel as a spare. Imagine a spare from 79 and wheel that are still in Factory condition.

Anyways it's a sweet car that has been extremley well taken care of with records dating back to 79. It's alot of receipts. I took it for a short drive today and forgotten how I missed driving a seven.

I forgot to post pic's.

nice SA! Is that an original colour?

I have an original spare wheel and tyre too! It's never been used- still has the chalk and everything on it from almost 28 years ago! I believe it was a bridgestone tyre.

Yes it is the original color, not too many made in that color. Funny on the way home a lady pulled over and wanted to talk to me. It happened that her 1st car was the Sa in the same color, what are the chances of that?

Yes, Bridgestone is the original and mine still has the chalk on it and the rubber is still in perfect shape.

Trochoid, thanks. I am still in California for another 2 weeks then it's off to Oregon to start over

Eatmyclutch, I think I am going to give the plates back to the lady I got it from since she was so fond of the car and took excellent care of it. Besides It will have Oregon plates soon. Turbocharge? I think i'll keep her stock for right now

A whopping 260k on the chassis. It's on the 4th motor. The trans has been overhauled and everything else I can think of has been replaced by all the receipts I have. And by driving it, well lets just say she drives very nicely. Steering is very tight and motor seems to have tons of power.

Nice find Doc. My buddy has an SA that came with the original spare still factory bolted in. It was actually stuck pretty well even after we removed the bolt, that tar paper stuff has some pretty good holding power.
One of the wheels that was on the car also had an original bridgestone tire on it. I'm guessing it came out of another SA's spare tire well.

One of the wheels that was on the car also had an original bridgestone tire on it. I'm guessing it came out of another SA's spare tire well.

When I bought my car last year the original owner showed me that he had a set of factory spec tires on the car still.They were the second set of tires that had been on the car,and he bought them through the dealership.The tires are dry rotted something awful,but they still hold air,and they allowed me to roll the car around while I was resurecting it.

I also have the factory spare on the alloy wheel in the spare well that doesn't seem to have seen the ground.Along with all this I have tqo complete spare alloy wheels with factory spec bridgestones on them.

Chris

excellent looking SA! do you happen to know off hand what the color is called? did the car come with a window sticker? it seems every time i drive a car other than my 7, i find myself comparing it to the 7 and i miss the car greatly. i regret not driving my LS more this year. i do have a pic of the original spare that came with my LS that has also never been bolted to a car. i just think stuff like that is neat. i'll throw up a pic or two.

are you sure its not an 80?
i see no blue offered for the 79 year.
80 you had:
AY = impulse
U2 = stardust
and A7 = marine

Thanks everyone.

Midwest, all the supporting documents say it's a 79 incluuding the emission sticker under the hood.

And yes she will stay stock. May put header system only for gas mileage since I won't have to worrry about smog.

I don't know what the color is, the code is A9.

Heres pic's of the supporting documents that came with and are on the vehicle.
