My new 3" exhaust
I have finally made some time to work on my 84 gsl. Here are some pics of my new exhaust that I just finished making. I started out by cutting my collector off my RB header and installing a road race flange, then two RB presilencers, a flow master two 2" pipes to one 3", to a 3" pipe out of a cut up ISC racing rear section, and a 3" Hooker aero cchamber muffler. As soon is I get the spacers for my new clutch I will bolt it all up and the end result will be LOUD. But my 13b half bridge should run much better. I took these today, and I know I need to change the date on my camera

any think but stock GSl. 13B half bridge 4 port ,48 ida, 10 lb steel flywheel, centerforce dual friction clutch, RB pulleys, 2nd gen alum waterpump housing (to save a litte weight). RB beat springs and front sway bar, and SE suspension when ever I wear my tires out because I will need new rims

Your 2 into 1 collector looks too big. Instead of the two pipes dumping into a 3" diameter pipe, they work better if it chokes down to about 2-3/8" dia throat of the collector, then expands back out to the 3" diamter pipe. That works very well on my 13B PP road race motor.
You can modify the middle of the collector you have by slicing a little bit out of the sides with a cutoff wheel, then heating it with a torch and squishing it down to a smaller cross section..

Guys I got a decent...but I guess you could say newbie question for my 1983 FB it's a base model 12A and I wanna do an exhaust upgrade on it...I wanna put on the RB header (or a header with similar or better performance qualities at the same price as the RB header or cheaper if there is a such header let me know)...but yea so from the header i'm gonna use and RB Presilencer, then the stock center section from that, I wanna do a dual exhaust, now heres where my question comes in I was told that the 12A engine does not produce enough exhaust backpressure, or pressure period to run a dual muffler set up is that true? if so, could I bring the pipe from the center section make it short to fit a muffler before the axle(for clearence)..but bring the pip out of the center section and into a dual outlet muffler and just run a pipe from each outlet pipe on the muffler to the back of the car where i can install A nice tip of my choice?.....If this is anyway possible for a decent price(NO MORE than 700$)will it still give me a good power gain and do u think it'll sound good...
