Obviously you havent seen it. Lets just say that Toby Halicki 0wns that *** Nick Cage! I forget the actual number of cars destroyed, but its like 100. And Toby did all of the driving stunts, even compressed his spine in one godawful sequence where the car landed harder than he thought it would. He was a man among men.

He was a crazy bastard. Died on the set of another flick- The sequal? I dunno- I saw the whole deal on Speedvision (back when I liked Speedvision )- But the original Eleanor was a yellow Boss 302.
The great totally 70s style of the film and music- everything coupled with the facts that these stunts were real- No computer animated **** makes for a beautiful classic that should be on my damn shelf along with "Bullet", "Rhonin", ...let's start a Christmas list of the classic chase movies- They're all relatively cheap now.
(I do give credit to the makers of the Nick Cage film, as it was'nt as stupidly overdone with the comp.-animation like "Driven")

Bullit is another classic! Steve McQueen was da man! Yea Toby got killed in a mistimed stunt filming the sequel. He was supposed to drive past a falling water tower, unfortunately it landed on his car.

what 7's are roaring through the black velour plains of forever?

while "cowboy" buddas are clearing out their garages and going bald,

beads of sweat counting coup, dancing shoe's wearing thin,

as memories of triangular turntables endlessly dub eccentric"Hi-d-HI" Hi-d-Ho's"with no mo' catalytic conversions chewing away nails and wrenching bumps from the daily grind.

my havana brown be around miz havana brown that is!

I almost bought a 3rd gen a year ago. They look phenominal, handle phenominal, and cost phenominal. The costs of ownership are about 10 times that of 1st gens, according to 3rd gen owners I've asked.
