My carb is done, but idles really high... (small story)

Ok I got the carb installed, and before I put it on I showed it to the guy thats letting me work in his garage FREE!!. He moved the links and opened it wide open and was like wtf vacum secondaries? I go yea but all you gotta do is weld this here(pointed) and before I turned around he was already grinding it to weld it. Well Its done at runs now, but I set it to how the rebuild kit told me too and it idles at 2300 rpm but starts real easy.

Is there any chance at all that the floats could be set wrong, or just the idle speed, that works now thank god... I just let it warm up and them yea you guessed it, ran around on the back roads un licenced and 1 head light. This was the first time I actually got to drive it on long lengths of road.

I was very happy with the results, and is really nasty when you gun it.. wow.. I'll resume monday, but theres no dieing out like there was before, and it gets plenty of gas. I think that the screw that opens the primarys up is set too high still because i moved it in when my carb was really bad.

Nothing but good after this right? great. I think my OMP is working right now too. ALOT less smoke, because It must of been injections way too much when I held it wide open to start and pumping it.

Sounds like progress! Yea, its your idle speed screw. Nothing to do with the floats.

You can double check the float settings by observing the fuel levels in the sight windows, one in front of the carb and one in back.
