My car doesn't suck anymore!
Well, I'm so excited I just have to blab a bit about the updates I've done on my car in the past couple days. I started a job about 50 miles from my house, and now it's time to make this car NOT suck on the commute.
Replaced ratty header/stock muffler exhaust setup (SO loud, SO tinny, SO crappy) with a full RB SP setup. Now the car is quiet (almost tooooo quiet!) and has MUCH more power!
Tune-up - 2 fuel filters, plugs, oil change - great for peace of mind!
Rear-mount battery - redid a lot of crappy wires, ran 2 gauge wire to the starter, and from there a 6 guage wire to the electrical junction box on the driver's side fenderwell. Going to put a remote jumper terminal near that spot and use that to power relays for an electric fan and DLIDFIS in the next couple days. Also going with a 13.5 pound Hawker G16EP battery once I fab up the mounting tray.
The biggie - went over all my "removed emissions" and fixed a bunch of mistakes from the previous owner. The car idles now! It has a much better sound to it, and I have a feeling it's a bit quicker! I'm SOOOO excited about this! A few odds and ends to finish up, but it's still a helluvan improvement! I used the mazspeed literature, and plan on posting up some revised lit of my own to fix a few confusions.
Next: electric fan (from a Taurus SHO), DLIFDIS, ported intake, and rebuilt carb with ALL the extra junk taken off.
Time to go clean the garage

Don't worry, I plan on making a nice little write-up on the DLIFDIS as well as the Nikki-gutting, and intake porting. The intake looks GOOD, you guys are gonna dig it.
Same goes for the e-fan and rear mount battery. I have a feeling when you guys see the battery, you're gonna join the bandwagon!
As for my "how-to's," I plan on being a little less "theory" and a little more instructive...I know a lot of guys are great at expressing the fundamentals of the projects, and rather than try and repeat that, I'd like to make some step by step instructions that are easy to follow and to the point. Hopefully I'll get started on some this weekend.
