That blows!

I had an RX in LA with an alarm. I had a thief pop the lock, pop the hood and snap the horn before it could go off. Figured he was working with someone, or was one quick and talented SOB. Though he had removed the key cylinder, he couldn't get the car started because of the killl switch. Must of pissed him off, he yanked the entire center panel out taking the stereo. Least I kept the ride.

One other story - I parked the RX outside Pep Boys one day, and must have had a worse hang over than I though - I got out of the car and locked the door with the car running. I asked a guy in one of Pep Boy's work bays if he had a slim jim? He said, "yeah, what 'cha drivin'?" I pointed to the RX. He smiled and said, "You don't need a slim jim." He walked out with a long screw driver, lifted the door handle, slid the driver into the hinge opening, and popped the lock! Oh ****!

Just a note to those that don't know - 1st Gen RX's are the easiest cars to get into this side of GM's F-bodies.

That, is why I love having the loudest exhaust (stock manifold, 1st cat, nothing after it).

If someone tried to steal my car from a block away, I could hear it.

If you lived in a nice nieghbor hood..... look around for the nearest 14-19 yr old........ like one of your nieghbors son... sons friend? Cause if it only happens while its out of the garage.... that could mean they are watching you.... close enough to watch...... Thats really really fucked up..... get an alarm, shave the door handles and lock, get loud *** exhaust, and two to three of those alarm loud speaker things.....

That really sucks man........

I've been seiously thinking about investing in a really loud and extremely sensitive alarm system for my car. There's not really many auto thefts around here, but like he said...nice neighborhood..... and it still happened.

Good luck finding your car.

sorry not to knock you or anything but mazdaman85 = 15 year old made me laugh.

Damn bad news about the car, hope you find the car and the jerks. Thanks for the heads up on the screw driver sounds like a metal plate might have to be fabricated to stop that.

Yeah, that was my question....

'cause anywhere I've heard of you have to be at least 16 to drive and even then it's just your learner's, except alberta, where you can get a farm licence to drive when you're 14 or 15...

But no passengers under the age of 18.........

Well, as a result of this thread I've decided to install an electric key switch that cuts off my fuel pump relay. (Yes, the switch takes a proper key and the keyhole will be hidden very well)

I'd like to see any car thief figure this one out in 30 seconds or less =)

(The next step is the 100,000V jolt to the chassis... )

Any luck with contacting the police or anything?

Edit: I hate typos.
