my 84 gsl-se
Tell you what. I read your other posts and can suggest 2 options. 1. Drop your car and the 6k you want to spend at my house, I'll let you know when it's ready. 2. Find the search button and start reading.

Why dont one of you young newbies do something original. First go thru and make sure all the safety issues are addressed. You know like brakes, tires, suspension, etc. Then make sure the interior of the car is immaculate. After that do the body and paint. After you drive the vehicle for awhile and enjoy the fact you have a sharp looking Se then if you still want to do the project and down the car for along time then do that.
I see so many posts about boosting hp and all these mods. Then i look at most of the cars and they look like a piece of ****, (not saying yours does). Just saying get the car reliable, make it look really nice then decide if you want to buy another car while yours is down to do the mods. Just my humble opinion.
Damn i dont know if its i been just skimming the threads lately but talk about a gangbang. Look Pval84 the guys are right search we get alot of new ppl on here asking the q's over and over again and second you should start to learn your car and how to fix it b4 you start jumping into a big project like that, thats if you havent done so already.
i feel like a parent talkin to a kid right now LOL!

Once all of these issues are addressed, only then should doubling or tripling the hp even be considered. Fwiw, the 2nd gen TII is a better choice for a later version turbo swap, imho. When the 3rd gens came out, even the Mazda dealerships had trouble keeping them running and trouble shooting due to a lack of training.
At this point in time, if you have to ask if the swap can be done, you are not up to the task for the swap, let alone maintaining it. It is much more involved than than doing a B18 swap in a Civic and turbocharging it.
While all this may sound harsh, in reality it is the truth.
I was serious about my offer, but it would be a TII, not an REW, and all of the other supporting mods would need to be done first or concurrently. You will need more than 6k to accomplish all of this if you cannot do the majority of the work yourself.

S3 rear end upgrade and frontend. sense the wife is going to buy me a new one. but get this its either a 1st gen or a 3rd gen either way shes buying me one!!!!! what to do what to do? but to get back on track make sure your able to harness that HP that you want to put under the hood you'll thank your self later for it!

This is exactly the process I am going through at the moment. I started with a thorough safety inspection, then serviced the engine/transmission/differential, upgraded the brakes(SE), new tires/wheels(SE), repaired/upgraded the interior and now I am working on the suspension. After the suspension, I will then stray from you suggestion and attend the power department, because the car will be used as a daily/track car. Perhaps, if I am satisfied with my project, I will then attend the body work and paint, though it's not bad to begin with.
