my 7

hey i got my first rx7 on saturday and ive been looking up all sorts of **** for it on the net since.. its an 83 with a 12a, came with a haynes manual, and a whole lot of **** previous owners havent taken out eg. mic for handsfree kit, alarm system only half installed and a million wires leading to nowhere. the sound system it came with it terribly wired, the idiot even used conveyor belt pull wire for the power leads. i added a sub to it already also the pop up washers dont work, any ideas why? not like it matters alot though. heres some pics

hrm, i'm confused, if it's an 83, why is the license plate in the middle of the lights? Isn't that an SA22C thing?

OR, because it's an australian car they are like that?

The plastic piece between the lights comes off and serves as the mounting place for euro-style plates.

I wish our plates were the same size as the rest of the world..... it's alot sleeker, better looking, and easier to mount the longer rectangle shape.

oh so the pics did work, browser kept timing out and i forgot how to change time out settings.... it was originally 7500 (Aus) so like 3750 american but talked him down to 6500, i only had to pay half tho (being in high school with parents has its benefits ) only reason i payed that much for it is cause its in bloddy good nick cept for a few really minor things, im in mackay, queensland
anyone have any idea why the pop up washers dont work? anyone had problems with them before?

pop up washers? You guys get all the gagets! We didnt get tose here in the US AFAIK. Hey guys, looks like yet ANOTHER A/C hose configuration. P/S style copmpressor on a non-ps car. Look how the hoses route downwards? Oh BTW nice car.

my popup washers work well, though i never use them, but occasionally the low headlight washer level light scares me when having fun going around corners!

just check all the wiring links and fuse, or maybee the motor has died?

where i am its real hard to get rx7's, this one was 4 hrs drive away but he regularly came to town so i didnt have to go anywhere. ive only seen about 5 first gens max in my town. im ganna check over ALL the wiring in like 3 weeks when i get back from holidays, theres so much not connected to anything, and i found a switch under the dash just to the right of the centre console and it does nothing (that i can figure). might be a kill switch for the half installed alarm system. i found the dissconnect alarm module in the boot after i got it lol. theres also some extra wires goin into the door that i have to find out what they are, how fun
