Muahaha Guess What!

Hey guys

i havent posted for a long time here so heres the update on my turbo FB GSLSE project

so far all i have really done was research and collect parts...
well the time has come!
The beast will be done as of Monday Feb 27, 2005
I have a friend that runs a rotary shop out here in BC... and hes been thinking... so this is whats going on

S4 ported turbo with S4 JDM downpipe
Megasquirt ECU
680cc primary
550cc Secondary
T2 intake manifold (bolts up but needs little welding and port matching which is done)
2nd gen Supra front mount intercooler
2.5 inch IC piping

thats it for now!
hope to be boosting 5-6 PSI for now maybe more later... i doubt it tho... did this for originailty

Cory

PS...

i have a question with this post...
i dont have the MS running right now so my pan for now was to run with everything on the car... menaing turbo and all but wire open the wastegate until i can get the ECU running... now the question is (which i think i have the answer to) will the turbo build boost at all with the wastegate always open... and if so... how much boost can the stock ECU handle for the time being...

Stock T2 ECU? 8.6psi before fuel cut.

Btw, why are you're primaries bigger than your secondaries?

5-6 psi thats it...thats not that much for a 13bt...most people do 10-12 psi on a 12at if not more...

its NOT a 13bt
its a GSLSE engine thats getting a turbo on it! and after once i get the MS tuned right i might up it... i'm not going to push my luck with this... i cant afford a rebuilt bill right now... lol

plus if i have to rebuilt... i'm going to put in turbo rotors so it will work better then... muahahahah

Since the SE ecu has no provision to handle secondary injectors, leave the 680's as your primaries. When you get the Megasquirt installed, switch them.

I don't know if wireing the wastegate will bleed off all of the boost or not. I would install a boost guage and keep an eye on it. If you have a wideband, that will give you an idea if you are getting lean. If you see any boost at all I would stay out of it.

yea i have a boost gauge but no wide band yet... i plan on getting a waide band soon for the tuning... i figure since the car runs rich already it should be able to handle maybe like 1-2 PSI... so i think it should be ok... but then again opinions and comments on it would be greatly appreciated as i dont know everything about boost...

so you think when i get the MS running i can run with 550 as my primaries and then the 680 as my secondaries... or should i leave the 680s as the primaries and get like say 720s or 800 for the secondaries?

With the stock S4 turbo, you should be good. You always put the larger injectors on the secondary side, makes starting easier. The 4 injector system is staged, the secondarys should come in around 3800 rpm to be available for higher rpms, and in your case, boost.

With the tuneability of the Megasquirt, you can go 680/p and 720+/s, especially if you are running a free flow intake and a 3" exhaust.

so guys... anyone have any input as to why the car starts but then after 5 secs dies....

all the EGR valves and vaclines are gone... the airpump and coolant feed at blocked... what i think it is is a large vac leak at the block off plate for the EGR. i didnt silicon it before putting on the plate... so... could that me my problem... also... its just my DP on right now so i know its running rich, which could be caused by the vac leak... and i know i am getting fuel because i can smell it from the engine bay... and no the injectors are seated properly... so i think the smell is from the block off plate, because the injectors are right there after it...

anyways... anyone have any ideas

Cory

PS... edit:

Now its not starting at all... any input...
